Player auction
How to run the auction console on your phone or tablet
After this guide, you can start the auction and call each player. You can record the bids and sell the player.
Who can do this
The tournament owner, or a co-organiser with the Manager role.
Before you start
An auction that shows Ready. See How to set up a player auction.
A charged phone or tablet with good internet.
The team owners in the hall, with their paddles.
Go live
Open My Cricket → ORGANIZE → My auctions. Under ORGANIZING, tap your auction.
Tap Go live. A box asks Go live?.
Tap Go live in the box. The status changes to Live.
The box says to use a laptop. A phone or tablet works too.
Open the console
Tap Open the console.
You see Nobody is running the console. Tap Start the console here.
Sell a player
Tap Next player. The first player comes up, with the Base price.
A team raises its paddle. Tap that team's tile, for example SHX. The price goes up to the next bid.
Another team raises its paddle. Tap its tile, for example PDS.
No more bids? Tap SOLD.
A box asks Sell this player?. Check the team and the price. Tap Sell.
Nobody bid? Tap UNSOLD. Then tap Mark unsold. Unsold players can come up again later.
Tap Next player for the next one.
Fix a mistake
Tap UNDO. It takes back the last step: a bid, a sale or an unsold.
UNDO goes back only to the latest player. For an older sale, use Void or Move on the website. See How to fix sales and finalize the auction.
Pause and finish
Need a break? Tap Pause. Tap Resume to go on.
When every player is done, you see This round is done. Tap Start the unsold round to bring back unsold players.
All done? Tap Complete the auction. Bidding ends for every team.
A box asks Complete the auction?. Tap Complete.
Check every sale before you tap Complete. After it, fix sales, give unsold players to teams and finalize on the website. See How to fix sales and finalize the auction.
Common problems
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| I don't see Open the console | The auction must be Live, Paused or Completed. Tap Go live first. |
| Another device is running the console. This one is read-only. | Someone else runs it. Tap Take over to run it here. |
| Only the organizer and the staff they add can open the console. | Only the owner or a Manager can run it. |
| Reconnecting… the screen refreshes every few seconds. | Your internet dropped. Wait. Move closer to Wi-Fi. |
| The price has moved. Check the new bid and try again. | Look at the new price. Tap again. |
| UNDO is grey | There is nothing to undo for this player. Use the website's sales page. |
| A box asks RTM? or shows Tie at … | Follow the buttons on screen: They use RTM, No RTM, or Open a tie-break. |
