How to send messages
Chat 1-to-1 with another player. Send text, photos and voice messages.
Who can do this
Anyone with a CricoScore account. The other player needs an account too.
Before you start
You are signed in.
Your phone has internet.
Start a new chat
In the bottom bar, tap Messages.
At the top right, tap ✎ (the pen icon). The New message screen opens.
Type a name, @username, phone or email. Wait for the list.
Tap the round chat button next to the player. The chat opens.
You can also open a player's profile and tap Message.
Send a message
Tap the Message box at the bottom. Type your text.
Tap the send arrow.
The first time, you see Before you post. Tap I agree. You see it only once per account.
To send a photo, tap the picture icon. To take a photo now, tap the camera icon.
To send a voice message, empty the box. Tap the microphone and speak.
Tap the send arrow to send it. Or tap the bin to throw it away.
Reply, edit, forward or delete
Press and hold a message. A menu opens with emoji at the top.
Tap an emoji to react. Or tap Reply, Copy, Edit, Forward or Delete.
For Delete, tap Delete for me. For your own message you can also tap For everyone.
You can Edit only your own text messages.
The ticks

Under your newest message the app also writes Sent, Delivered or Seen.
CricoScore announcements
At the top of Messages you may see a CricoScore row. It has news from the CricoScore team. Tap it to read. You can't reply there.
Common problems
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The chat button is grey | That player has no CricoScore account. You can't message them. |
| Sign in to chat | Sign in first. |
| "Message not sent" | Check your internet. Your text is kept. Tap send again. |
| You blocked … at the bottom | Tap Unblock to chat again. See How to report and block. |
| "You can't reply to this conversation." | The other player blocked you. |
| Someone sends rude messages | Hold the message, tap Report. Or tap ⋮ at the top and block them. |
